HELP WITH ADDICTION

Over the years, I have helped many people come to terms with their individual addictions including alcohol, smoking, cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamines, amphetamines, heroin, methadone and ecstasy, plus prescription drugs such as opioids, xanax and fentanyl.

I have also helped clients address lifestyle addictions including gambling, shopping, pornography, sex, gaming and social networking. Acknowledging that you're addicted to something isn't easy, but with the right help and support, you can curb your cravings and regain control of your life.

Without intervention, addictions can become more deeply ingrained in your behaviour, while many addicts also struggle with feelings of worthlessness, depression and anxiety. It can be a very lonely path to go down, but according to NHS statistics, around 2 million people in the UK are living with an addiction - so the first thing to remember is that you're not alone. And if you are willing to let me help you, then we can put you on the road to recovery.

Working with David has transformed my life, I was struggling with various addictions and even after the first session I felt like I had turned the corner.

TREATABLE ADDICTIONS

Alcohol Addiction

Most of the time, for many individuals, the idea of an alcoholic drink seems harmless. However, when alcohol consumption becomes more frequent, it can often lead to dependency. Without treatment and rehabilitation, dependency on alcohol will cause serious long-term complications and can even be fatal.

Gambling Addiction

In recent times, gambling websites have been made more accessible, creating serious issues for addicts who can gamble all hours of the day and night. Gambling addicts often find that even when they win significant amounts of money, the craving to continue placing more bets becomes a behaviour they have to repeat.

Substance Abuse & Drug Addiction

Becoming addicted to drugs, and then being able to quit usually takes more than just good intention or a strong will. Substance abuse changes the makeup of the brain, making it almost impossible to quit without professional help and support.

Prescription Drug Addiction

Most of us take prescription drugs only for the reasons our doctor intends. But recently there has been a dramatic rise in the abuse of prescription drugs. This intern has led to an increase in hospital admissions and due to an increase in overdoses, more individuals are seeking help.

Smoking Addiction

Cigarette smoking is a complex behaviour and Nicotine is an addictive substance, over time this causes changes to the structure and function of the brain and withdrawal often causes symptoms such as nervousness, restlessness, irritability, anxiety and impaired concentration.

Pornography & Sex Addiction

If you, your partner or someone you love suffers with sex addiction, you might not have healthy boundaries. Most sex addicts fear being abandoned, often needing to jump between relationships. If either one of you becomes addicted to porn, this can lead to feelings of alienation, isolation, depression, anger, or humiliation.

Gaming Addiction

One of the main reasons video games become addictive, is because they are designed to be that way. Game designers always look for ways to get more people to playing their product. They accomplish this by making their games challenging, yet easy enough to keep you coming back for more. As such, video game addiction is very similar to gambling addiction.

Social Networking Addiction

Social networking is very addictive. Often individuals spend far too much time on the various platforms including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and other forms of social media. Whilst medically this isn't officially recognised, this behaviour can have a dramatic effect on how individuals perceive themselves and the potential negative consequence of their over use.
